Ms. Post
Ms. Post's Bio
When I was fresh out of high school, I wanted nothing more than to become a marine biologist. I started out at Oakland Community College and after two semesters, I decided to pursue another career. I enjoy helping people, so I moved into the world of retail. When facing the new challenges of retail and team building I found myself excited for work. There came a day, where I felt that I could contribute more to society from the skills I had learned from retail. My organization and creativity skills had reached a point where I knew that I could do something to help more people. Teaching seemed to fit with this idea.

I have been at Western Michigan University, for a couple years. I am working on finishing my bachelors in Elementary Education with my focus in Math and Science. I chose Elementary, mainly because I adore working with kids.
My Teaching Goals
My goal for any student is the same regardless of their age.
Every student has developed experiences and perspectives of their own before getting to my classroom. These perspectives and experiences are important as we move forward together. Respecting that everyone has a different point from which they have arrived from is one of my main focuses. Not every student will grow at the same pace, but they will grow from their original points of learning.
I hope to grow and foster their original ideas.
Family
My immediate family is my mom, sister, and our fur babies (one dog, Ella, and two cats, Yoda and Lealani).
We have all lived in Michigan our whole lives and absolutely adore everything it has to offer.

Our favorite thing to do together is to just take off for the day with no real plan in mind. It could be a "lets head East" day where we'll end up in Port Huron or Caseville, or it could be a lets do something that is not a movie where we'll end up at the DIA ("Free" for Oakland county residents) or some other museum like the Flint Institute of Arts.

We also have a serious problem taking a "nice" photo. Serious photos are great for professional settings, but I still struggle today finding a "nice" photo of all three of us. We always make some sort of fish/squishy face.
My sister, mom, and myself.
Sometimes it is a nice to remind
students that I was a kid once too.
(My mother dressed me like this!!
It's not my fault!)
